There's a bunch of init scripts here, including the one for motion.

I thought the point of this thread viewtopic.php?f=55&t=6193 was kernel was "upped", ie systemd could be run?
Maybe someone should create a new best rootfs, if kernel has options per here http://cgit.freedesktop.org/systemd/systemd/tree/README

Anyone bothered to *test* this other kernel in full yet pepedog? This is why I have not yet re-supported it. Besides the whole nand PITA problem.

I don't think pepedog meant you specifically but anyone who has the device. Navym was/is working on a newer U-Boot, it might support USB booting without flashing kernel to nand?

I can't get it to get a dhcp address, it clearly needs a bit more work.

It isn't the kernel that acquires dhcp lease, but whatever the dhcp client you use.

With the existing kernel it boots up fine, change to the new kernel and I get a solid green light, but no IP address. The lots say it stalls looking for an ipv6 address.

So, I extracted it to a usb drive, plugged it in, booted up, started ssh connection and it asked for password. "root" did not work. "" or nothing did not work. I don't know how to connect. Did I skip something?
