I would suggest modifying the hardware to access the internal SATA connector. It's SO much faster, more reliable, and easier to maintain that way.

I would love to do the SATA mod, but that really does not help me since I cant seem to get a clear answer on how to install ARCH on this thing.

You essentially have to use an out of date rootfs: search "last best rootfs"

Well thanks for all the help and suggestions, but it looks like ALARM is not worth the headache on this device. Ill go with SAMBA via OptWare, thank you grayman4hire for pointing me to it. Real shame about this device and ALARM, but hey at least in my case it was free cant complain. Thanks again.
