V4L Media_build fails with segmentation fault

Postby noggin » Sun Jun 01, 2014 4:06 pm

Hi there

Bit of a newb question. I'm trying to update my DVB drivers with a patch to enable DVB-T2 support on an August T210 - and have had success with this on an x86 Ubuntu build.

I'm now trying to install the patched driver on my GoFlex Net. However I'm getting this message when I try to build it :

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'make[2]: Entering directory '/root/media_build/v4l/firmware'
CC ihex2fw
gcc: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault (program as)
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.
')

Can anyone offer any advice? I'm sure I did this under Debian on a PogoPlug a few years ago.

Have you checked that it is not doing anything x86 specific first?

Not sure how to - but I've used media_build on PogoPlugs, Cuboxes and (I think) Raspberry Pis in the past. Pretty certain it shouldn't be x86 specific. What should I be looking for?

It looks to be falling over the first time it calls gcc?

However I then did a pacman -Syu (I hadn't used the GoFlex since Feb) and now the machine won't reboot. Have created a new rootfs on the external drive, it boots into this, but a further pacman -Syu (as per http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5 ... goflex-net ) causes the machine not to reboot.
