XFCE4 only shows black screen with mouse pointer

This isn't for me to ask for help, but to let others know what I found the problem was. After updating packages today running startx resulted in XFCE4 only showing a black screen with a mouse pointer. What you need to do is downgrade libx11 and hold off on updating it for now. I don't know exactly why that particular update breaks it but downgrading fixes the issue.
