It's better to downgrade instead of creating symlinks.
I just reached Oleg and he is going to rebuild kodi tonight he is with some family matters (and as such I offer myself to do it) but he will take the time to rebuild kodi.
If you want you can test the 16 git version (didn't test) or you need GCC 5.1 and rebuild version 15. I'm using the version 15.2.2 and managing upgrades and everything is working for me (even remote). It's not ideal but thats how Arch works...constantly updates break things if the software that relies on those updates don't get updated as well....that's where the Arch issues start and the main reason I would never use it for servers even being a seasoned sys admin.
Hope he's able to address it soon. Meanwhile, I wonder what's the policy on getting new packagers for unmaintained packages and when would it be a viable action in this scenario.
The packages will soon be updated in repos. If anybody want to compile this themselves, here are gcc 5.1 packages: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/otkw6gt0f9vby/gcc51 In this case I would suggest setting up a chroot from rootfs tarball for your device.
