Afaik armv6 and armv7 are unaffected so your problem is unrelated to this thread.

I have the same issue. I can't locate the 226 packages to downgrade though. I only have 227 in cache.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('elcheekytico', 'Y')es

Latest rootfs was generated with 227, so no 226 to downgrade to. I don't know any online source from were you could obtain the 226 packages.

I've placed armv5 versions of the 3 packages (4.5M) here:

Thanks. That worked great. Whomever is responsible for updating the link to the rootfs may want to revert to the older version until this is fixed because everyone will be broken. I see a lot of posts from people with similar troubles and they seem to be going with netctl as a workaround which is going backwards.

Any ideas on how to fix this off-line? Not even possible to log into the console on mine, and I do not have a platform to chroot off. I'm left looking at mounting and working on the file system.

Is there a fool-proof way to take the old packages and replace the assets on disk where pacman is not available?

You can still chroot. Create another bootable USB drive and chroot from there.
That is why rescue system in nand is handy sometimes ;)

You can use qemu-user-static and binfmt (from AUR) on a x86 machine to chroot into your armv5 rootfs... Something in line with this: http://blog.eldajani.net/arch-linux-qemu-bpi-emulation/
