Hello everybody,
I should say that im a pretty new arch user and this is my first entry on a forum.
I followed the guide on the archlinux arm website to install arch linux on my sd card to work with my Asus c100.
I then read and followed some arch wiki pages and other internet pages and finally got kde and lxde.
I want to have Pantheon as well.
I have couple questions and I'm just writing them all here. You can just help me with any of them, I'd be grateful.
I searched the internet and followed the arch wiki page https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pantheon
I downloaded most of the packages that are listed there, for some of them are not available in the AUR.
Q1- In the internet it says that there's a website (http://pkgbuild.com/~alucryd/) that you can just add some lines to pacman.conf and use this website to install pantheon. I added When I did this pacman gave and error that says something like no database can be found, "pantheon.db" not available
Q2- Do sources need to be written specifically for architectures? I thought what matters for the architecture is the compilation which is done by makepkg? I extracted the tar.gz files that I got from AUR, then cd into them and run makepkg -s. I did this for yaourt and everything worked fine. When I did this for a package about pantheon (cerbere-bzr) I got the following error from makepkg something like: cerbere-bzr is not available for archtitecture=armv7
Q3- Do you think I can compile the packages myself for my computer using Distcc? I don't know how to use distcc. I would love to have a step by step guide or even a prerequisite checklist, it would be very helpful. BTW It took me 20 seconds to build yaourt on the chromebook. If building pantheon would take much more, I have two i7 pcs.
So as you would understand I want to get Pantheon DE on my device.
Thank you.
