Expand root partition without losing data?

Postby gezeebeezee » Sun Apr 24, 2016 1:59 am

Hi everyone,

I currently have a Pogoplug with a 1TB external drive attached. I have it partitioned into a Root partition (4gb) and a media partition (~950gb). I didn't think I would need more than 4gb but I'm starting to run out of room which is preventing some applications from running -- particularly couchpotato. 'df -h' shows 0% available on '/dev/root'. Is there any way to increase the root partition size without losing any data? My media partition has about 400gb worth of media currently on it.

Thanks guys!

gparted should do the trick (you can boot from a live cd / use another device to modify)
