downgrade gcc to 4.8

Postby la7low » Sun May 22, 2016 3:36 pm

Hello,

I need to downgrade the gcc to version 4.8.
The found two ways:
1. install from /var/cache -> not possible I have a fresh install
2. get the PKGBUILD from AUR -> could not find the PGKBUILD of gcc 4.8

Could someone suggest any another ways?

Thanks in advance!
(I am using arch linux arm on a armv7h device.)

Why do you need to downgrade?

Your best case is to make a separate change for 4.8, and use that (the AUR)

What do you mean on this: "separate change for 4.8, and use that (the AUR)"?
So how can I install gcc 4.8?

I need that to install ath10k driver from a backport release (http://drvbp1.linux-foundation.org/~mcg ... backports/), while I am stuck on the L4T kernel of nvidia (kernel version 3.10.40) as with the mainline kernel my jetson tk1's pcie port is not recognized.

Or does anyone have the arm gcc 4.8 PKGBUILD?
