no audio in mythtv

Postby nos09 » Tue May 24, 2016 12:45 am

hello guys,

I have installed archlinux on my raspberrypi (uname : Linux alarmpi 4.4.8-2-ARCH #1 SMP Tue Apr 26 19:14:58 MDT 2016 armv7l GNU/Linux).

I have aslo installed mythtv on top of it along with lxde. here is the version info :

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
pacman -Qs myth
local/mythplugins-mythweb 1:0.28-1
Web interface for the MythTV scheduler
local/mythtv 1:0.28-3
A Homebrew PVR project
')

After configuring mythtv as per the wiki everything is been working smoothly, except for auido.
when ever i start mythfrontend or kodi the audio is not seem to be working. mythfrontend gives error like : "diabling audio" with the big red "X".

Also i have been accessing the gui from vnc so far, is there any way to check if audio is properly configured from within vnc ???

I have been stuck on this problem for some time now all by myself, any help would be really appriciated !!

Thank you !!!
:P :P :P :P :P

Sorry for the delayed response on the forum, I was a little ill these days so couldn't work on this ..

The problem still persists. my /boot/config.txt file contains the follwing (as suggested by some on other forum answers with similar problem.)

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
cat /boot/config.txt
# See /boot/overlays/README for all available options
dtparam=audio=on
hdmi_drive=2
')

Also, PulseAudio is installed.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
pacman -Qs pulseaudio
local/libcanberra-pulse 0.30-6
PulseAudio plugin for libcanberra
local/pavucontrol 3.0-4
PulseAudio Volume Control
local/pulseaudio 8.0-3
A featureful, general-purpose sound server
local/pulseaudio-alsa 2-3
ALSA Configuration for PulseAudio
local/pulseaudio-jack 8.0-3
Jack support for PulseAudio
')

And alsa too,
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
pacman -Qs alsa
local/alsa-lib 1.1.1-1
An alternative implementation of Linux sound support
local/alsa-plugins 1.1.1-1
Extra alsa plugins
local/alsa-utils 1.1.1-1
An alternative implementation of Linux sound support
local/pulseaudio-alsa 2-3
ALSA Configuration for PulseAudio
')

Alsamixer shows the card as (with f6) :
- (default)
0 bcm2835 ALSA

How ever, when I open pavcontrol it doesnt show anything except 'Establishing connection to Pulseaudio, Please wait.. '
When I run pulseaudio -v it shows the deamon is already running..

Also the problem with mythtv is still there .. when i run mythfrontend and play tv, it always gives a popup message that 'audio is disabled.'

Anybody can help me debug this ?

notice the red cross over volume icon.
The problem is in order to get pavcontrol to work i have to start pulseaudio manually evertime with puseaudio -v ...
