[SOLVED]how to change pacman cache default]

Postby acconciox » Sun Aug 14, 2016 11:19 am

This is what i would change from default from raspberry pi armvh7 because writing on / microsd is a bottleneck really tight.

/etc/pacman.conf
DBPath = /media/KINGSTONE32/pacman/
CacheDir = /media/KINGSTONE32/pkg/
HookDir = /media/KINGSTONE32/pacman.d/hooks/

yesterday trying to install vlc-git i had some problem just changing the configuration files and copying only cache from old to new pkg location, then i start to get file doesnt exist *.part and some /usr/local/share/man already exists error message.
in order to change default from /etc/pacman.conf

1) /etc/pacman.conf changes
DBPath = /media/KINGSTONE32/pacman/
CacheDir = /media/KINGSTONE32/pkg/
HookDir = /media/KINGSTONE32/pacman.d/hooks/
2) copy from 3 default to new 3 dir *.*
3) sudo pacman -Syyu

is it enough to have a stable pacman or do i have change something else?

ciao e grazie!

to remove problems it is better not to use a vfat partition xz files come with + or : in the name sometime. :oops:
