unifi package listed on website but not in repository

Postby opencode » Tue Apr 25, 2017 2:27 am

I think the unifi package is currently missing, perhaps accidentally. If I search Packages from the website, it appears here:
https://archlinuxarm.org/packages/any/unifi
And has been updated recently (about 2 weeks ago).

However, when I look at a mirror, it's not listed where I would expect it. For example, it's missing here:
http://ca.us.mirror.archlinuxarm.org/armv6h/community/

And when I run pacman -S unifi, it says:
"error: target not found: unifi"

Looks like a dependency issue: it requires mongodb, which doesn't support armv6h

Yeah, it looks like that's the problem; I see mongodb for aarch64 only. Do you know what changed with mongodb? There used to be 32-bit ARM packages - is there some kind of temporary problem?

I think I read elsewhere that mongodb support for 32-bit isn't expected to come back. Does upstream support another DB option this package could use to make it usable on armv6h again?

I just checked their official site and your are right. Mongodb no longer supports 32 bit platforms. I think the only option is to use previous 32 bit community packages that already worked.

I thought I had seen upstream have options for another DB, but after checking today it looks like mongodb is their only option. It's too bad there's no longer a way to get mongodb on Raspberry Pi via Arch Linux ARM, though I understand why; I'll probably end up switching to Raspbian for this system :(

That will still only last you so long, until Debian / Raspbian remove the version of MongoDB that is no longer supported.

Yeah, that's a fair point. I'm hoping Raspbian will be motivated to keep some version of mongodb working on Raspberry Pi, but I'm open to better ideas here. (Hopefully not having to replace my hardware :))
