No updates for several days now

Postby slackline » Tue Dec 08, 2020 8:01 am

Hi,

I've not seen any updates for three or four days now for any packages across Raspberry Pi Zero/2b/4b.

I've enabled a second mirror under /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist but am told repeatedly there are no updates but for example etckeeper which I have installed across all systems was updated the other day, my system only has the version from 2020-11-24...

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
alarmpi-4b etc # ls -lha /var/cache/pacman/pkg/etckeeper-1.18.1*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 20K Aug 28 13:18 /var/cache/pacman/pkg/etckeeper-1.18.14-3-any.pkg.tar.xz
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 21K Nov 24 08:55 /var/cache/pacman/pkg/etckeeper-1.18.15-1-any.pkg.tar.xz
')

Try and update...

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
alarmpi-4b etc # pacman -Syu
:: Synchronising package databases...
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
alarm is up to date
aur is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
there is nothing to do
')

Mirrors are...

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
alarmpi-4b etc # grep -v '^#' /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
Server = http://mirror.archlinuxarm.org/$arch/$repo
Server = http://eu.mirror.archlinuxarm.org/$arch/$repo
')

Any suggestions welcome as I'm unsure how to proceed.

Could be an out of date mirror or could be that none of the updates pushed correspond to installed packages on your system. See: https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUIL ... its/master

I can confirm - none of official mirrors (I've checked all from list at https://archlinuxarm.org/about/mirrors) have been updated since 2nd of December.

Github repo with PKGBUILD's has updating regularly and seems up to date,

Links on https://archlinuxarm.org/packages point to the most recent versions e.g.

https://archlinuxarm.org/packages/aarch64/python
http://mirror.archlinuxarm.org/aarch64/ ... pkg.tar.xz

however no packages found there.

Same problem. The last update was on December 1.

The python 3.9 rebuild is why other packages are not getting pushed. It is getting worked though.

@blacksad : How did you find that out please?

@graysky : Is there an issue tracker where more information on the problem and progress might be followed please?

Thank you both in advance.

There isn't a news feed or tracker as far as I know. Regarding the sync times, just browse to your mirror and look at the date/time stamp of the 'sync' file.

[All] No mirror update since Dec 02

Postby tristess » Wed Dec 09, 2020 2:12 pm

Hello,

I noticed that no updates have been provided since Dec 02, and pacman -S does not find any updates.

By looking quickly at the mirror repo it seems indeed that no updates have happened since December 02 (e.g. http://de3.mirror.archlinuxarm.org/ )

A quick look at the PKGBUILD repo shows that there have been a lot of updates since then: https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUILDs
however they are not appearing in the mirrors.

I am quite new to Arch so I may have missed something here.
Please don't hesitate to close this something it if it is indeed completely normal.

Regards
tristess
