firefox-98.0-1-aarch64 problem

Postby acorbi » Wed Mar 09, 2022 8:55 am

Hi all,

I'm using a rpi4 (8Gb of ram) under sway (wayland).
Up to and including firefox-97.x, firefox works ok on this machine but after upgrading to firefox-98.0-1, firefox starts, it's running but no window is shown.

If I start it from a console I get these errors:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'C')rash Annotation GraphicsCriticalError: |[0][GFX1-]: glxtest: DRM device has no render node (t=3.18349) [GFX1-]: glxtest: DRM device has no render node
Crash Annotation GraphicsCriticalError: |[0][GFX1-]: glxtest: DRM device has no render node (t=3.18349) |[1][GFX1-]: No GPUs detected via PCI (t=3.18368) [GFX1-]: No GPUs detected via PCI

Going back to firefox-97.x it works again.
Anyone knows if there is there a solution for this?
Thanks!

I'm having the same issue, also on aarch64, and I ran into this post. I also chose to go back to Firefox 97 and it works fine. I found while searching online that this exact thing has happened before regardless of OS or CPU architecture. It's specific to Firefox and I don't think there will be anything we can do except wait for a new Firefox version that hopefully works.

Edit - it was an unrelated issue.

Likewise, I'm seeing this on a Samsung Chromebook Plus (aarch64). Making due with elinks for now. There is an upstream issue filed: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1757571

Hi there,

For me version 98.0.1-1.1 solved this problem.
Thanks!
