Blender 3.1 Error: Build without OpenImageDenoiser

Postby Joachim » Fri Apr 01, 2022 11:26 am

I am using my RasPi4 boards as additional computing power when I render videos with Blender. Up until Blender 2.93.5 everything worked like a charm. With 3.0 I ran into weird dependency issues with libtbb.so.2 / libtbb.so.12 that I was finally able to resolve, but now I'm lost.

After updating Blender to version 3.1 I get this error:

Blender quit

When I disable denoising in my project, the scene gets rendered, but of course that doesn't look pretty and is not an option.

Does anybody know why OpenImageDenoiser is not included in the 3.1. ARM build and if there is a chance this will be fixed any time soon? Would it be a huge effort to build a full-featured Blender that includes OpenImageDenoiser (which is, by the way, still included in the Arch Linux x86 build of 3.1) myself? I'd be grateful for any advise or helpful links.

Dear Joachim,

I cannot speak for the package maintainers, but I suggest comparing the PKGBUILDs of blender amd64 and arm64; this should allow you to identify the missing parts to include for OpenImageDenoiser support.
