[SOLVED] GDM crashes

Postby alexela » Fri Mar 08, 2024 4:03 pm

Hi,

Since last upgrade GDM craches with a nice message «something went wrong». I can launch sway (so wayland still works) or xfce (even X11). Journalctl ends with «gdm got into pause» or something like this. It also complainr about MESA_LOADER and dri2… I checked what packages have been upgraded : I would first think of systemd (255.4-1 to 255.4-2) (and sysvcompat and libs) which i cannot downgrade du to circular dependencies with mkinitcpio and cryptsetup ; and vulkan (276-1 to 279-1) (both headers and icd-loader) which i dont dare to downgrade…

I dont know where else to find some valuable information.

I run archarm on pinebookpro with a pretty old kernel (5.17.9), once provided by the manjaro team who succeded in making the DP alt-mod works on the usb-C out (i definitely need this !). It is no longer supported and mainstreamed kernel cant make it works…

alex

[edit : few upgrade later, it works again (i also had to remove the kms hook in mkinitcpio, dont know if it helped in anyway here…)]
