wifi failed brcmfmac issue

Postby claus » Thu Aug 01, 2024 6:48 am

After the last update on Raspberry Pi 4 with ARCH LINUX OS: LINUX alarm 6.9.12-2-aarch64-ARCH
I can not connect via wifi. I get always in the terminal the message:
brcmfmac: brcmf_set_channel: set chanspec 0x100e fail, reason -52
Please have a look at my attachment (Unfortunately a picture because I have no ssh etc connection on RPI)
Setting set_power_safe_off has no success.
Does anyone have an idea how I can fix this?

Same issue here. Pi4B, ALARM aarch64. Upgrading to linux-rpi-6.6.42-1 nuked the whole wifi subsystem with the infamous "set chanspec ... fail " messages all over the place.

Tried with modprobe -r brcmfnac_wcc (which will remove the main brcmfnac module as well), then modprobe brcmfnac_wcc again, but to no avail: chanspec messages again, and no wifi whatsoever.

Care to elaborate how did you solve this issue? thanks!

sure,
1. sudo modprobe -r brcmfmac-wcc brcmfmac
2. create in /etc/mordprobe.d/ a file brcmfmac.conf with options brcmfmac feature_disable=0x82000
I hope it helps

Sure it worked like a charm. Thanks man.

Now that I know where all this noise comes from, I spent a bit of time reading about all that fuss with brcmfnac handshake offloading in the kernel mailing lists. Quite interesting stuff, if you ask me, but they let that one slip into the mainline kernel with no previous warning... oh well.

thanks again,
