ARMv9 is here

Postby psutokth » Sat Dec 21, 2024 2:50 pm

Hello, I'm keeping an eye on this: https://radxa.com/products/orion/o6/

v9 is supposed to have more performance per watt. This board has a lot of PCIe capacity. So it could be quite a powerful, but efficient device, and then there's this really interesting part:

"Native Linux / Debian support with UEFI / BIOS

PC Boot-up in Line with X86 Conventions
Support UEFI(EDKII) and Various Commercial BIOS
Debian 12 Native, Integrated with CD8180 Kernel Package and Extensions"

I want to see other people get it up and running, so I haven't ordered, but I'll be watching for people reporting their experience. Hopefully someone here wants to try it!

Whether mainline Linux support stabilizes.
Real-world reports of thermals, PCIe performance, and power draw.
Community support for headless setups, SATA/NVMe booting, and clustering.
