pacman 7.0.0 and sandbox

Hi,

pacman 7.0.0 uses a sandbox by default, but my kernel (6.2.10 on am33x) doesn't have sandbox enabled :

# CONFIG_SECURITY_LANDLOCK is not set

So does the kernel need updating on this target?

Hmm - kernel 6.2.10 is 20 months old or so -so looks like the problem the kernel for the am33x target has stalled.

Is there a known problem here? Can one change to the generic armv7 kernel:

I just updated for this option. Not owning this hardware I am unsure if I bring the kernel package to current upstream. Can you build/test my attempt to update to 6.13.1? Do so knowing it may not boot and you will need to recover.

I'll try later today. I also left a kernel compiling overnight - I'll try that first. It's on an ad card, so if I take a copy before, even if it doesn't boot, I can pull the card and restore ...

my compile (almost same options, but without patches) fails with:

Seems solved here - have yet to check the solution

You failed to compile linux-a33x from my fork? It built for me without error (cross compiling but still)

This was on a raw linux-6.13.5 kernel - I was 6 hours into a compile when you did your first post, and didn't want to stop it. It takes over a day to compile on the pocket beagle.

I check the .config files - there we only minor differences between yours and mine.

Anyway now have started going via makepkg - this will probably take a day until I get results. I'll simultaneously dig into what was going wrong with 6.13.5 ...
