I installed Archlinux on my Pogoplug E02 in February using the instruction on the Archlinux Pogoplug V2 E03 page.
After reading the news: "Binaries move to /usr/bin requiring update intervention", I decided to reinstall Archlinux from scratch.
I followed the instructions on [Hacking the POGOplug. The definitive guide].
Rebuilt system and rebooted.
Reconnected with ssh and changed root password to match records.
Step 1:
Updates and Tools:
## Update Pacman Sources
pacman -Syy ## package sync
pacman -Syu ## system update
## Update Pacman Installer
pacman -S pacman
warning: pacman-4.1.2-1 is up to date.
## update various apps
xpacman -S ntp bzip2 zip p7zip gftp unzip libzip ##tools for later
## Text Editors Installation
xpacman -S vim nano ## nano and vim text editors
Step 2:
Fixing the clock
nano /etc/rc.conf
>File not found!
The instructions I was following were written before the changes "End of initscripts support".
So now I working on adding ntp as a service.
My question is: Should I follow the instructions in the "Beginners'_Guide: Install the base system"?
Or will I run into problems with space on my 8GB USB stick?
Thanks.
