cups printing problem

Postby Socaltom » Mon Oct 28, 2013 2:10 am

Trying to move my printer back the pogo V2.
When I try and print a test page from teh web gui, it stays "filter failed"
Review of the cups error_log gives this

I set logging to debug, and couldn't find the error, but it still happens. I've down graded cups, ghostscipt, and what ever I could find and I still get the same error. Any suggestions? I feel likes its a rights issue, but I don't know where to look
Thanks

I think cups filters can easily run out of memory on some devices. I have much more success when I print remotely using cups and whatever driver/filter is needed on my laptop or other computer, so that the pogo receives raw data that it can send directly to the printer without running another filter.

I finally got it to work. I installed gutenprint and switched to the gutenprint driver and now it works. I don't have a swapfile on this one, so you might be right. Maybe all try adding one to see if it makes a difference. I had it working on this plug for a couple of years before I switched to my 386 box. I'm moving back to try and save some electricity.
