Desmume - crash on startup

Postby gus3000 » Thu Jan 02, 2014 2:28 am

Hi all !
I'm quite new to Arch Linux, so I apologize in advance if I make any huge mistake here :?

When I try to run desmume, I got that output :

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
`--> desmume
Failed to set format: Invalid argument
Microphone init failed.
DeSmuME 0.9.10 svn0 x86-JIT NOSSE
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::bad_alloc'
what(): std::bad_alloc')

I got exactly the same output with a .nds file in argument, or with desmume-cli :/
I installed it from the AUR with yaourt.

Do you got any idea what to do ? That would be very nice :)

Mmmh but I didn't compile anything myself :/
i just intalled it directly with yaourt, can it still be a compile error ?
Thanks for your reply :)

Okay, so I read the PKGBUILD here
That is not the version i had installed, so I downloaded this one and tried 'makepkg', which failed at compilation, according to what you suggested. Someone said here
"Remember to make the checksum on the PKBUILD 'skip'
also, remove enable-jit.patch from PKBUILD.
JIT works, use --cpu-mode=1."

What does he mean ? if I try 'makepkg' it fails during the compilation, do I have to do something after it failed ? or pass a special argument ? I'm a bit lost here :/
Once again, thank you for your help.

You're going to need to provide more detail than "failed"
