How to kill/start 3gUSB Stick on a headless, standalone BBB?

Postby Noy » Tue Apr 29, 2014 7:17 am

Hello Guys,
i have a little issue. I try to use my BBB headless and standalone with an 3g usb stick. I have managed to get it to work with wvdial and netctl. But I need to control it within my c-program. If I enable the netctl profile it will connect on startup but i cant get it off with stop and disable. I means the profile is stopped and disabled but the connection is still on until i plug the stick off.
The other option is calling with system("wvdial umts &") but then i need to kill the child over his pid later and this seems not to be the best way..

I tried it with rfkill block/unblock but ppp or ppp0 or wwan and so on aren't present to rfkill.

What could I do?
