Udevd and usb_modeswitch

Postby ineiti » Thu May 08, 2014 10:03 am

Hello,

I'm trying to get a usb-modem (ZTE) to work on ArchLinux with a SmilePlug. I also installed usb_modeswitch and put the "SetStorageDelay" parameter in /etc/usb_modeswitch.conf to "5". If I plug it on, or boot the Smileplug with it, it usually doesn't work. I then tried

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
systemctl restart systemd-udevd
')

and re-plugged the stick, which worked! Another way it usually works is when I do

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
eject /dev/sr0
')

Did anybody else see this behavior? Also other USB-modems don't work if I don't restart systemd-udevd.

Any hints?
