Beaglebone Black 3.16 kernell ACPI

I had the power button configure to shutdown the Black on previous kernels but the latest 3.16 kernel for the black appears to lack the ACPI support and the power shutdown no longer works. Anyone have any info on this? Will ACPI be supported in future releases?
