Tool to measure filesystem load through the USB bus

In an attempt to understand more around frequent pauses while pacman is installing files to my SD card, I'm looking for a util that can monitor this. I am aware of iotop but short of me logging the output over time and graphing it, I'm not sure that is the correct way to view saturation due to I/O. I am open to suggestions for a utility that can monitor this.
