makepkg misunderstanding maybe

Postby sirmonkey » Mon Sep 14, 2015 8:34 pm

following
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ke ... ild_System
and
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Makepkg

I've used
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '$ makepkg -o ')
to get the kernel source
I've added in the drivers
(tired building just a module but still get exec error, so figured build whole kernel)

So how do I build?
I don't see a build only option and if I run makepkg again it fails because I've already run it. (file exist and such)

1) which kernel package?
2) build what?

If you are trying to patch a kernel, then you need to do it through the automated steps of the PKGBUILD.

thanks for the response
this kernel
https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUIL ... aspberrypi
and i'm adding in some fbtft stuff for testing to see if i can then add some backports and custom drivers.
then i want to rebuild that kernel.

I clone the repo
get to the core/linux-raspberry dir
makepkg -o
add code edit config stuff
<now i need to build, the module would be nice, but looks like i have todo the whole kernel>

"make M=drivers/staging/fbtft" but in makepkg land
or just build the whole kernel with the changes via makepkg

someone mentioned that there is a way to just run makepkg and have it pause after download and then restart building. but i haven't seen that in the wiki yet.
