Raspberry PI crashed after displaying numerous USB interupts

Although this seems like a general problem with the operating system, I was told that it belongs here instead of on the main Arch forums.

I've been experiencing an apparently unusual issue with my Raspberry PI, the only thing I've done with since performed a fresh install today (2016.03.12) is update the system and install AVR programming utilities including gcc, make, flex, bison, and avrdude. Since the update, and it should be noted that I did it first, I have seen a series of timestamped messages appear on screen, interrupting the normal output, concerning USB device(s) being detected. This occurred with my KVM switch feeding input, a keyboard directly attached, with and without AVR programmer attached, and was made incredibly worse when I tried to use a USB hub to the point where it would completely crash every time soon after boot. Another point is that it most commonly happens during the installation of some software including the system upgrade and the python interpreter.

I suspect that the USB driver is to blame because after checking the logs, my keyboard (the only device plugged in at the time) was considered a new device at least ten times during my python install procedure.

As for my credentials (if there was any question), I am fairly new to Arch but have spent several years using Debian and Ubuntu as my primary operating systems. When I tried Arch about a year ago, I was impressed with it's nature of being striped down to the point where it does not even have it's own install script. That said, I am not familiar with many of the aspects of this operating system and somewhat less familiar with the procedures and tools associated with reporting bugs and their likeness. Any help in that area to get the issue(s) resolved is appreciated.
