NFS on pogoplug v4

Postby EASports » Wed Jan 15, 2014 3:26 am

Hello everyone,

I've done an annoying amount of googling and forum browsing about this, but doubtless someone will link me to where it's been answered before

Anyways, I have recently picked up a Pogoplug v4 and put Arch on it. I installed nfs-utils and followed the instructions at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NFS, and everything works fine. The issue is when I reboot, it appears that rcp-mountd.service does not even try start, and because of this (or this is because) nfsd.service fails to start. Here is the output of "systemctl status nfsd" directly after boot:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[eric@alarm ~]$ sudo systemctl status nfsd
nfsd.service - NFS Server Daemon
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/nfsd.service; disabled)
Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Wed 1969-12-31 17:00:16 MST; 44 years 0 months ago
Docs: man:rpc.nfsd(8)

Process: 162 ExecStop=/usr/bin/rpc.nfsd 0 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
Process: 155 ExecStartPost=/usr/bin/exportfs -a (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)
Process: 132 ExecStart=/usr/bin/rpc.nfsd $NFSD_OPTS $NFSD_COUNT (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
Main PID: 132 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
CGroup: /system.slice/nfsd.service

Dec 31 17:00:15 alarm rpc.nfsd[132]: rpc.nfsd: Setting version failed: errno 22 (Invalid argument)
Dec 31 17:00:16 alarm exportfs[155]: exportfs: /etc/exports [1]: Neither 'subtree_check' or 'no_subtree_check' specified for export "192.168.1.1/24:/home/eric".
Dec 31 17:00:16 alarm exportfs[155]: Assuming default behaviour ('no_subtree_check').
Dec 31 17:00:16 alarm exportfs[155]: NOTE: this default has changed since nfs-utils version 1.0.x
Dec 31 17:00:16 alarm systemd[1]: nfsd.service: control process exited, code=exited status=1
Dec 31 17:00:16 alarm systemd[1]: Failed to start NFS Server Daemon.
Dec 31 17:00:16 alarm systemd[1]: Unit nfsd.service entered failed state.
')

When I manually start rpc-mountd.service, the nfs shares appear on the network and everything seems fine. I see that the failure comes with exportfs, but I can run that just fine from the command line. I'd really like to have NFS start on bootup ... any ideas?

Thanks for any help!

could it be the problem with time? try fake-hwclock package.
