Postby kazebayashi » Sun Feb 02, 2014 1:35 pm

Hi,

Trying to install ARMv5 on my TonidoPlug 2, I did all the steps described here: http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5/tonidoplug-2
Everything went fine unitl step 11, when rebooting into Arch Linux ARM.
Puty get stucked and nothing happened.
Now I cannot access the plug via ssh anymore.

Does anyone could help me?
Thanks

What are you using to connect to the TP2? Hostname? IP address?

I'm using IP address (like this: 192.168.1.xx), port 22 in PuTTy.

It may have changed. Check your router's DHCP table. The hostname is 'alarm'

(Thanks for your help WarheadsSE)

I checked the router: I can't see it.
The router shows that there is something plugged on the "LAN2" ethernet port, but I can't see it on the "connected devices" list.

I tried to connect via puTTy with "alarm" as hostname and port 22, but nothing: "Unable to open connection to alarm. Host does not exist".

Did I brick the TD? :?

I founded 2 interesting threads concerning this situation:

http://www.tonido.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=5022

I'll buy a serial cable and try to do it...

Ok,

I bought this cable:
http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00CEVIAWI/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'C')able USB TTL 5V connecteur (chipset FTDI - compatible Arduino)
USBTTL5VC1.8M

Then I followed the instruction in the this thread to connect via serial cable:
http://www.tonido.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=3536
using this connection:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '&')quot;Top" of TonidoPlug2
VCC
RX
TX
GND
NC (This is the unpopulated pin)
"Bottom" of TonidoPlug2

I checked the "serial line" (which was COM3).

Then I followed the steps described on this thread:
http://www.tonido.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=5022
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'O')nce you connect the serial cable:
1. Open the serial connection terminal on your PC
2. Power up the TP 2
3. Interrupt the Marvell U-boot loader by pressing CTRL-C after you see “NAND:”
4. From the serial prompt:
Marvell>> setenv mainlineLinux no
Marvell>> setenv arcNumber
Marvell>> saveenv

5. Disconnect the serial cable
6. Power cycle your TP2.

And it's working now!

I hope this thread would help someone else...

You actually should not be attaching Vcc.

Also, if you are now running ALARM, check that the machine was detected correctly with those two values changed.
