Hi,
I'm a linux noobie. I just retired my Pink v2 pogoplug and thought I might try to re-purpose it as torrent and music server.
I followed the directions to load archlinux on to it. First thing was that I needed to allow SSH which I did. The pogoplug page asked to set a password for access which I did (in hindsight, this caused my issue). Went thru the steps using putty (using the new password) and got Archlinux onto the usb stick, etc and everything installed just fine. Rebooted the pogoplug and it started back up fine. But now I login under root, I have to use the "new password" to login. This puts me at a prompt ending with a $ (Pogoplug:~$) . I had figured I would add new users and not run only as root, but this appears to put me on with no rights to do anything....
I did some poking around and found a post to make a bootable usb version of ArchLInux (viewtopic.php?f=53&t=3312&start=10). Which does allow me to boot up my pogoplug with the usb and then login as root, root with the proper prompt (root@alarm ~]# )
But now, how do I fix things so that I have the proper login with booting to the USB... Like I said, i'm a Linux noobie, so I need some hand holding...
Thanks in advanced
