Move hard drive between systems

Postby coachward0742 » Tue Apr 01, 2014 10:03 pm

Quick question for you guys.

I have an E02 Pogoplug set up right now with arch that I gave too my in-laws. The problem is, I want that one back and to give them a V4 I have sitting around.

My question is this, since the only difference between the install of the two is the u-boot, would I be correct in assuming that if I had everything but the rootfs portion done, I could just unplug the HDD from the E02 and plug it into the V4 and everything would work?

I don't know if I asked that question well enough for people.

Basically, could I take two fully set up armv5te devices (V2 and V4), switch the rootfs USB drives, and boot up without issue?

Yes, you are correct, it will work.

Thanks for the reply moonman. One more question. Is the pogoplug mobile the same as v4 as far as install and rootfs goes?

In terms of booting from USB2 or SATA, yes.
