Since they are all /tmp directories, and the u-boot installer does have some magic based on some checksums && only operates in the current directory -- it is all the same in the end.

I browsed the archlinuxarm.org/os directories but can't pinpoint say the release prior to the 3/2014 one for armv5te - if someone can point me to a tar.gz from late 2013 or early 2014 I'll give that a try, also searching to get a new usb stick to try.
