There is nothing to do, you can run abs again if you want, or rm -r /var/abs
So you can't run ioncube unless they give you the right version for armv5

Never mind...
for some reason my computer decided to disconnect from my main router and connect to my guest router which has access to the internet, but not the rest of my network.

so ssh is working again...yay!

right, if they give me the right version, or:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'H')i,

Yes I looked over your emails and I saw that you were using PHP 5.5. In
this case it would not work and you would have to consider the custom
loader option.

From my email I sent previously:

"Providing that there is an x86 cross compiling tool chain available for
your system, we should be able to produce a build within around 10
working days (2 weeks). The provisional quote for this is $250, which
goes some way towards the costs of producing a custom build, and we will
advise if the quote will be significantly different once we have details
of the tool chain."

Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

Kind Regards,
Ben
ionCube

any possibility of this occurring?
what is a cross compiling tool chain?
is that abs? or is it a dedicated machine that compiles source code, like an assembly language compiler?
30 years go, when I was writing firmware in So. Florida and Arizona, we had machines that wold take source and make binaries.
but IDK if that's the kind of compiler he's talking about.

Well, we're certainly not paying the $250+ USD for this.

I ran the command again, and after MUCH processing and lots of what looked like very long command strings I received
cc: internal compiler error: Killed (program cc1)
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.
See <https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUILDs/issues> for instructions.
Makefile:795: recipe for target 'ext/fileinfo/libmagic/apprentice.lo' failed
make: *** [ext/fileinfo/libmagic/apprentice.lo] Error 1
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
Aborting...

what do I do???

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'W')ell, we're certainly not paying the $250+ USD for this.

Do you ever give complete answers about anything?
However you are the first person to make any comment at all regarding this particular part of this issue.
So thanks for that, I do appreciate it at least I know the project wont be funded by archlinux

I already explained that I understand if it is cost prohibitive as I have no idea what the investment strategy/resources/etc. or how projects like this are taken on/funded.

So your comment was totally unnecessary, condescending, probably intended to be derogatory, AND, does not explain what who would need to do what to effect a solution.

If such a solution were disclosed, possibly other archlinux users would want to become involved and offset the expense of making this happen. if you're not familiar with ioncube and its loader, it allows authors to encrypt their code so they can sell it, and end-users can't see it. This keeps their source hidden form hackers and thieves. I'm sure you could have sorted that out though.

My interest in ioncube loader is that my web site application requires ioncube to run, so I was testing this environment to see if it would run or not. I would be VERY excited if it could.
Without ioncube, this platform has no value to me...so if the only limitation is $250, I might be interested in paying the fee myself.

However, I have zero interest in paying ioncube if I have no idea if dev-team would do what is necessary or even if I need dev-team to do anything, or if there is any hope of success at all or what level of on-going support might be put in place if the project were continued somehow.

if you are only going to give terse, condescending responses, please don't respond at all.

Otherwise, I would really appreciate knowing what it might take to move forward.

Thanks for cooperating,

')So thanks for that, I do appreciate it at least I know the project wont be funded by archlinux

We're not a part of Arch Linux, we're a separate distribution. I was making the observation that there is no way we're going to foot the bill for this in any way.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('capchap', '
')So your comment was totally unnecessary, condescending, probably intended to be derogatory, AND, does not explain what who would need to do what to effect a solution.

It's pretty obvious who and what needs done. It was not meant to be condescending or deragatory. They (ioncube people) need to compile an armv5te compatible version that is also viable against php 5.5 and/or better. Our toolchains are widely available.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('capchap', '
')if you are only going to give terse, condescending responses, please don't respond at all.

Oh, I'm sorry your feelings might be snubbed by short answers. You'll forgive me if I don't write an essay outlining every single last step you or Ioncube needs to take to make any of this a reality. Some things are self-evident with very minor research. I have already stated that they compiled the binary apparently for ARMv6 architecture and that it would not work on the ARMv5 that you have.

Oh, and that italic comment was intended to be condescending.

Looks like it compiled after I disabled IMAP and left it overnigh... Not to go all this to waste here's where it can be downloaded: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/8wwxvk ... august2014

Just to make it clear: All of us here are volunteers. We are not getting paid for anything and no one is obligated to answer any of your questions. Face it you are in way over your head and we have already gone above and beyond to answer some of your trivial questions. Front page clearly states that archlinux arm is "targeting and accommodating competent Linux users". There is no reason why you should get defensive.

I think I know what i need to do now.
the bottom line seems to be that ioncube has apparently prepared a loader for this envirnment for php 5.3.28, so why cant they do it again for 5.5.15?

I will address that with them next.

I'm sorry I thought this group was somehow related to archlinux due to the website name.
I hope you can see my confusion.

I was rough on you because your moniker/avatar indicated you were a developer so I thought you were being paid, and as such thought you were being rude and unprofessional as a representative of archlinux.
I apologize to you for that misunderstanding and how I interacted with you (and anyone else I was rough-shod with)
apologies to all.

I don't know how threads die here, this one i consider closed.
should I somehow obtain an ioncube loader and need further guidance I will open a new thread.
