How to completly remove MariaDB and various sql files?

Postby kbaggen » Wed Apr 06, 2016 6:27 am

Hi there,
after got Tvheadend running on both Segate Go Flex, and Zyxel NSA325v2, I have now started looking a bit at MythTV and I got into the starup screen (though xdrp), but suddely the database install give an error like "Mythtv Couldents update database to new schema" and I guess I made something wrong, and now wish to completly remove MariaDB agian and start over!

I recon something like:
1. Stop mariaDB
2. Pacman -Rns MariaDB
3. remove dir´s like /var/lib/mysql
4. Remove files = /etc/my.cnf /etc/mysql/my.cnf ~/.my.cnf

Or anyone know to do this bulletproof?

It is possible MariaDB was installed properly but you did not configure MythTV correctly to access it or did not properly initialize the MythTV database within it.

As for removing MariaDB, your list looks pretty complete.
