Pogoplug Office Secure Private Cloud - POGO-V4-A4-01

Postby tjuwin » Wed Jul 20, 2016 8:24 pm

Can I use this device to install Archlinux, as mentioned in the link https://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5/pogoplug-series-4? The instructions just says about Series 4. Is this device Series 4? How to identify Series 4 devices? Is it the V4 in their model number?

Thanks.

Assuming this: https://www.amazon.com/Pogoplug-Private ... B00776V3DI

Yes, that is a V4 (with the top-dock and multiple USB 3 by that picture)

I went ahead and bought one. But, I am unable to enable SSH on the device.

my.pogoplug.com doesn't have a checkbox to enable SSH
curl keeps returing the message -connection refused

What should I try now?

Thanks,
Juwin

Off the top of my head, I am unsure.

Have a search through forums.doozan.com

I can't really help without purchasing one myself.

Is Pogoplug a dead company? Support emails are closed without a proper reply. Twitter account doesn't have any posts since 2015. Facebook page is dead. There is no phone number to call. Firmware updates doesn't get pushed down to the devices.

How to contact their support team? Are they just asking for money without providing any kind of support?

At this point, AFAIK, they are out of the device business.

The hardware is essentially the same as the original V4-Ax, but with slightly different OS on the onboard NAND.

Even for that new business there should be some support team, right?
