NSA325 after kirkwood-dt update, ssh authentication error

Postby divize » Sun Jul 14, 2019 7:10 am

Hello,

I am tinkering already a couple days with following issue with u-boot 2017 from bodhi on NSA325v2:
Booting an old uImage with Arch kirkwood Kernel 4.4.176 is fine.

But after i updated to kirkwood-dt Kernel 5.2.0 I cannot log in with ssh anymore.
Nether I use bootm with a generated uImaga nor bootz with the zImage.

I always get an authentication error. Any ideas???

No, I just use openssl. I have installed linux-kirkwood-dt:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[2019-07-13 11:42] [PACMAN] Running 'pacman -S linux-kirkwood-dt'
[2019-07-13 11:43] [ALPM] removed linux-kirkwood (4.4.176-1)
[2019-07-13 11:43] [ALPM] installed linux-kirkwood-dt (5.2.0-1)
[2019-07-13 11:43] [ALPM-SCRIPTLET] continue to use linux-kirkwood for now.
[2019-07-13 11:43] [ALPM] running '99-linux-kirkwood-dt.hook'...
[2019-07-13 11:43] [ALPM-SCRIPTLET] ==> Building image from preset: /etc/mkinitcpio.d/linux-kirkwood-dt.preset: 'default'
')

And then generated an uImage with dts included. Luckily I have kept the old 4.4.176-1 uImage.

just asking, because cryptodev was (is? I didn't test) broken and kept you from login in per ssh. Better check twice with pacman -Qs openssl. There is also a thread in the forum about it

Well, here is my output:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'sudo pacman -Qs openssl
local/openssl 1.1.1.c-1
The Open Source toolkit for Secure Sockets Layer and Transport Layer Security
')
I am wondering if others have the 5.2.0 kernel up and running? And how they created the uImage?

I have it up and running without any problems (except the mentioned cryptodev one). Just normal zImage from the Repository
Did you check with netconsole that it actually boots this kernel and not a recovery system?

I have a serial connection and verified that it is booting the 5.2 kernel. And I tried with uImage and the zImage. Can you tell me which uBoot version you have installed?

I am considering to go back to stock and start with a fresh install again. Can anybody provide the stock u-boot files and the zyxel os? Or maybe give me hint how to restore?
