v2 doesn't boot after installation

Postby mon » Sun Aug 11, 2013 6:26 am

Hello,
I recently encountered problems with hanging PogoV2 after 4:00am; initially I've fixed it creating a swapfile, then it just died on me. I assumed the USB flash drive got damaged somehow and proceeded with a fresh install on a new drive. Everything goes smoothly, but it won't boot after the installation. As per FAQ, I changed the flash drive again and it's still not working.

Did you guys change anything to the latest image recently? In the last three years I've done approximately four or five reinstalls, latest of them being May/June and never had any issues, this time around I can't manage to boot ALARM on two different flash drives.

Netconsole output would be nice to troubleshoot

netconsole is not a serial. One of the more recent posts about it: viewtopic.php?f=53&t=5977#p33717

No errors whatsoever; eth0 is up but I can't see any DHCP related messages, so I guess it's not getting any address.

Re: v2 doesn't boot after installation

I have the same issue, just re-installed my pogoplug v2. Did it several times before, no problem whatsoever. This time, it won't boot into Archlinux. Will activate netconsole tomorrow and check results as well to see if they are similar as yours.

I created another thread, so that it gets more attention.

As a heads up: this is not that it doesn't boot. It is that the network interface is apparently not talking over ip.

Is there any workaround on this?

Hey guys,

I have the same problem. I installed ArchLinux on a usb stick on my Pogoplug V2 yesterday. After the installation archlinux will boot from my USB and I can ssh to it and configure stuff. BUT! After the first reboot the network interface won't load and the archlinux is not accessible via ethernet...

Only thing I can do is to plug off the usb stick, boot into pogoplug os and mount the usb stick. That gives me access to the archlinux file system on the usb device...

Any ideas? I really would like to use it as plex media server.
