Here's the thing: it's samba.

iperf shows MUCH higher transit rates, so it is something about that software package that is either triggering it, or showing the actual issue itself.

Additionally i tried it via ftp and still got slow write speeds.

got my replacement, Getting 70-90MB/s read and 30-50MB/s write, so it was indeed faulty.

Hmm, not sure, also not sure how you would confirm that either. Currently im running stock, twonky, mysql, php, python, ffp and some other services and still getting consistent read or around 55 and write of around 75
