NSA320 secondary SATA not working

Postby 42loop » Thu Mar 13, 2014 12:37 pm

Hi there,
got the arch linux installed on my primary hard drive, however the secondary one is not being activated at boot.
if i run to_stock, it spins up the drive and everything works as expected-
if i run to_linux, i get the following from the boot messages:

ata2: SATA link down (SStatus 0 SControl F300)

and the drive doesn't even spin up...

what am i missing ?

any help appreciated

This is abnormal, to be honest. My NSA320 has no issues spinning up both drives once Linux boots. We will be providing an updated u-boot in the coming months that will also spin it up during u-boot.

No. I wrote the 3.12+ kernel patch, and once the kernel fires up, it applies power to the GPIO controlling the SATA power for HDD2, and thus spins up this hard drive. U-boot indeed, does not do this.
