Pogoplug V4 mobile cant locate on network

Postby Rcoy » Wed Aug 27, 2014 3:24 am

i couldnt get arch to boot after the last "reboot" of a installation. Green light would blink then after afew seconds light would blink on the usb stick then the light on the pogo plug would go red and it seems to reboot and repeat. Followed the reinstallation with Ubuntu. Everything went well. Now pogoplug blinks green then the usb light will blink then the pogoplug will turn yellow for a sec then solid green. yellow light stays solid on the network cable while the green blinks every now and then. So i assume it booted just fine but i cant find it no where on my network to ssh into. Ive changed ports and cables and even tested the ports and cable with other devices. i have scanned my network with mulitple scanning tools and cant locate the pogoplug. Ive tried 3 diffent usb sticks with mulitple different formats all with the same result. So i tried the to "revert" but no luck. i even tried fsck commands as well. i have spent numerous hours trying to get this to work on google. somehow i missed it. I've already put an order in for a serial nokia cable. Would be cool to get this fix before that gets here (about 10 days) and just have the cable as back up. Sorry for my ignorance. any thoughts?

Hi,
After reverting to pogoplug OS, remove the USB stick and reboot the Pogoplug.
Go to https://my.pogoplug.com and check if it is still there, if not try to register it again.
If it is there, make shure SSH access is activated and re-enter a password.
Check DHCP table on your router to find the IP address of the Pogoplug.
Try to SSH the Pogoplug.
