Pogoplug V4 - No DHCP lease request.

Postby ka3narisama » Fri Sep 26, 2014 12:45 am

Hi there,

I ran through the install process twice last night but stalled after /sbin/reboot.

I see the pogo reboot and get a solid green light on the front.

As expected I loose the ssh connection, but the existing lease persists and no new i.p. is issued by the router.

I switched off the plug overnight and let the current lease expire, however, connecting the cat5 and restarting does not issue a new lease.

I found this thread http://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=6510 which is similar but resorts to a serial cable fix and configuring uboot.

I am not confident that I can follow these steps any alternative options?

No problem reverting to stock at this stage, don't really want to brick the plug trying something I don't understand.

Any guidance appreciated!

So, is it requesting a new? Or are you basing all of this on the fact that you don't see the router issuing a new IP?

You can, for the time being, configure it to have a static IP via offline edits to the filesystem. Then you can see what the culprit might be by leaving the DHCP enabled profile in place.

I wouldn't know what log files to check to see if it is making a request or not.

I'm working on the assumption that it isn't making a request, because my router is stable enough with every other device in the house.

For the time being I have installed a package manager alongside the existing firmware by modifying the instructions here:

When I come back to playing with ALARM I'll test out your method.

Right now I don't have the time, being half-way through a house move and stuff.

Thanks for the suggestions though, I'll post back when I get the chance :)
