I think I bricked my Pogo v4

Postby raindog308 » Mon Dec 01, 2014 9:16 pm

I have a Pogolplug V4-A1-01. I followed this guide:

http://blog.vinnymac.org/?p=242

...and after reboot, I get this:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '# ssh root@192.168.1.21
Corrupted MAC on input.
Disconnecting: Packet corrupt
#
')

I thought maybe the USB drive was bad, so I repeated the drive prep with a second thumb drive, but the result was the same.

I'm thinking that the device is bricked because there's no way to break in and replace the boot loader. But...I thought I'd ask the brain trust here if there are other options - ?

Your title is wrong, you do not have a V1.

Also, we have official instructions for a reason.

You're not even downloading the official tarballs if you follow that, FFS.

You're right - sorry I typo'd the title. Fixed.

1) I think you have a pogo plug V4, not a v1. Check the main page under platforms to be sure
http://archlinuxarm.org
2) If you do have a v4, then I would compare the script file you used with the script from the alarm install page. You could also try the revert listed under "advanced" under the V4 platform tab.
3) Search under kirkwood devices for bricked V4 and maybe you will get some advice.

Thanks much - reverting fixed it.

The official directions worked great and I'm up and running.
