GoFlexNet reinstall, uboot error???

Postby nimfas » Sat Dec 20, 2014 3:37 pm

Hi,

Sorry but I'm rookie in linux.

The story:

I used the GoFlexNet with the old system. 1 USB pendrive for the system (boot), and 1x 320 GB 2,5" hdd for data
ftp,samba, transmission runs on it.

I buyed a 1 TB WD RED hdd, so I think I can simple change the hdds... I was wrong, the system doesnt boot with the new one.

Ok, I would like to use the miniDLNA, so I take another usb pendrive, and do the steps.

Put the pendrive into a Linux laptop (ubuntu)

cd /tmp
mkdir alarm
mount /dev/sdx1 alarm
cd alarm

wget http://archlinuxarm.org/os/ArchLinuxARM ... est.tar.gz
bsdtar -xpf ArchLinuxARM-PLATFORM-latest.tar.gz

cd ..
umount alarm

These steps I think must be doing in GoFlexNet...
(Download the U-Boot installer
wget http://archlinuxarm.org/os/armv5te/boot ... flexnet.sh
chmod +x goflexnet.sh
Run the installer to download and flash U-Boot:
./goflexnet.sh
If successful, reboot:
/sbin/reboot
The GoFlex Net will now reboot into Arch Linux ARM.)

At this point I unplugged the pendrive...plug into the GoFlexNet... power on.

And the green light is blinking.... and blinking forever.
But Doesnt boot at all.

Can Someone help me?

How can I make this ramdisk, If I use pendrive for rootfs, and 1TB WD red hdd for datas?

Hi Can You help me to solve my case?

I followed steps, to install a new system to GoFlexNet.
The U-boot is old, you can see,
This is the U-boot log:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'U-Boot 2010.09 (Feb 16 2011 - 18:42:02)

And this is the Kernel:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'nimfas@nimfas-laptop:~$ nc -lu 10.10.10.4 6666

')

How could I fix this?
I'd like to use it with 1 pendrive for the system, and 1 hdd (1 TB WD red) for datas

The old system is going from another pendrive, with 320 GB Hdd, but if I change the hdd to the new 1TB the system doesnt starts :-SSSS

I'd like to use miniDLNA, so I must change the system to new.

Thank for helping me!

Of course.... $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'mkfs.ext3 -L rootfs /dev/sdb1') was the line :)

I followed your "commands" word by word, thats why I don't understand why doesn't working?!?!

Hello,

I have a similar problem on my goflex net and goflex home.
reinstallation on USB flash drive : OK
reinstallation on a SSD (120GB) : OK
reinstallation on a Samsung hard disk 500 GB : it doesn't boot. The green light blinks.

Thanks for your help.

It seems the GoFlex Net doesn't like Samsung. :)
I just tested a Seagate 250GB hard drive, it booted without problem.
