sheeva problem with systemd-227-1

Postby replabrobin » Tue Oct 20, 2015 4:26 pm

After an upgrade I was unable to get my sheeva to boot properly seems there were problems with pam etc etc.
Using the console I was able to down grade and then upgrade bit by bit. I think the problem lies with systemd-227-1.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '# uname -a
Linux delilah 4.2.3-1-ARCH #1 PREEMPT Mon Oct 5 03:10:32 MDT 2015 armv5tel GNU/Linux')

When I compare the working and non-working boots the problems seem to lie with systemd thusly
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '

during a normal boot I see the "EXT4-fs (mmcblk0p2): couldn't mount as ext3 due ....." error, but not the cannot add dependency ones.

Tried another update, but it seems systemd-227-1 is off the market and I have no problems with systemd-226-3.2

You better follow this http://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=9394&start=30. There seems to be no solution yet beside downgrading.

If you add "rootfstype=ext4" to your uEnv.txt your "EXT4-fs (mmcblk0p2): couldn't mount as ext3 due ....." error should be gone. But is has nothing to do with the problems of systemd.

Not sure what you are saying here. My sheeva is working fine after the update to systemd-226-3.2. I am not seeing any issues related to the problems I had with 227-1. I was suprised that the update went to systemd-226-3.2 since I expected to see a systemd-227-x, but I suppose that systemd-227-x has been withdrawn from the repository so that's OK by me.

On the other hand I did add the rootfstype=ext4 to my uboot environment and that did eliminated the EXT4 error. Thanks.

Sorry, I misread your last post that you have now problems with 226-3.2 and was already wondering :D
