Installation on raspberry pi 3 help

Postby atwde » Mon Feb 26, 2018 10:04 pm

Hey, so I'm new to the ARM but I am running arch on my laptop and I'm trying to get it running on my raspberry pi 3. I followed the instructions on the guide on this site, but it won't boot up when I plug it in. When I was trying to get it working not using the tutorial I was not getting anywhere, but when I used the tutorial and plugged it in, the light on the pi did flash green once or twice, but then stopped and wouldn't do anything. Any idea why? Any tips would be great. Thanks!

Hi,

actually it's recommended to use ARMv7 [1] for the Raspberry Pi 3. The reason is, that there are no AARCH64 (what you called ARMv8)-binaries for some drivers, like the video driver. If you want to use the board with a graphical interface, use ARMv7.
