Cannot use swapon libsmartcols missing

Hello everyone,
I am using a raspberry Pi B+. I created a swap file and tried to use swapon to enable it and got an error saying that libsmartcols is missing. libutil-linux is installed so I am not sure what to do here. I am updating right now so maybe that will fix it.

Has anyone else seen this before?
