Installation clarification required (RasPi install model B)

Postby lennylux » Mon Sep 07, 2015 8:03 am

Hello,

Apologies for noob question, but I don't see anything directly related, Hopefully you can clarify a RasPi installation quibble I have....

I'm trying to install ona RasPi model B (512mb ram model).
Using the new installation instructions, I get to the bsdtar section and when run, I receive a lot of cannot extend attribute errors.

I see it says in the instructions (run as root, not via sudo) but root is "disabled" normally in the Pi. can anyone who has done a recent installation provide a workaround.

The aim of my efforts is to have a lightweight CLI running, wireless working and no need for GUI etc.. so Arch (from description) fits my use case perfectly, if I can just get there....

thanks for taking the time to read.
Regards

Root is not disabled, you just can't ssh in as root. But you can ssh in as a user and then switch to root
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'su root')
Password is root

When was root disabled over SSH ?

Because i did a pacman update right now and i can't login over ssh anymore. I dont think i have any normal users enabled (unless there are some preset).

What i can do ?

Edit:

Nevermind, fixed.
