Thanks for reply. I was surfing the net and found this: http://www.andrewkilpatrick.org/blog/?page_id=215 The site has a simple schematic for TTL-COAX conversion. I'm assuming that the S/PDIF clock pin isn't even used, which seems to be a good idea as the cable has only ground and signal wires. Or is the clock for timing the sending circuitry to read the signal only on rising/falling/whatever...? This is a bit hard to guess. Maybe I need to take this to my school and poke it with a scope. Of course I have to first get it to play something. The box has the original firmware, just modified to not to connect to the Service :)

Thank you guys for coming up with this really good information!

I do have a few questions, I am adding an RTC crystal and a .22F capacitor (instead of a coin cell) to my dockstar. I plan on connecting the cap to the 5v rail via 2 diodes in series (1n4001) which should have a cumulative voltage drop of 1.4v, thus charging the 5.5v .22F cap to 3.6v.

Is the RTC circuit tolerant of 3.6v?
Should I use a 3rd diode and drop it to 2.9?

EDIT: I just measured a new cr2032 coin cell, and it is 3.4v.

Thanks in advance,
Charles

Hi.

I've bought a pogoplug v2 and I've read that they are similar to the dockstar.
Do any of the Dockstar hacks in this thread directly apply to the pogoplug?
What hardware hacks are available for the pink pogoplug?

Thanks.

Can some one help me to see if the same is possible with POGOPLUG-E02. I badly need the RTC and I2C to be enabled again.
