Plugging in devices such as LAN adapters, Wi-Fi cards, printers, etc. to Arch Linux ARM.

CAN Network on PandaBoard

Postby dkhpandaboard » Thu Apr 26, 2012 12:58 pm

Dear all,

I build/installed a CAN driver peak-linux driver 7.5 on pandaboard with 3.2.0 Omap 1411 distribution.
But at running, a big latency is observed (sending frames and receiving last values updated 1S to 2S later).
Some one know if PandaBoard is not optimized to perform CAN network communications? or if my distribution if not ok for CAN network? or peak driver is not compatible with Panda Hardware?...

All your suggestions are welcome..

PS: my application is well running on a linux laptop

Thanks in advance for your response.

Reason: Capitalized CAN to make it appear to have better grammar.

- Are you using Arch Linux ARM?
- What driver & device? (specific)
- To what bus, connect via which bus?

Thanks for questions,

My distrib is omap 3.0.2 1411 based on ubuntu
driver CAN: peak-linux-driver-7.5 (rebuilt on this distrib)

Receiving frames:

CAN CABLE=>PEAK Device =>USB:
I send my frames with a windows computer to the peak device (wich has a CAN controller) then its transmits frames to the pandaBoard using USB

Transmitting frames:
USB=>PEAK Device => CAN CABLE:
